A preview of the supporting programme
A high number of registrations has already been received for the coming edition of ISM, the world’s most important trade fair for sweets and snacks, that is being staged in Cologne from 31 January to 3 February 2016. Once again, over 1,500 exhibitors from around 70 countries are expected at the fair, including numerous market leaders. The range of exhibits encompasses chocolate and chocolate products as well as confectionery, biscuits and snacks. The new ISM segments enhance the fair’s wide range of offers with further important aspects on the topics of snacking, to-go and breakfast. These include ready-to-eat savoury snacks, fruit and vegetable snacks, breakfast products as well as coffee and tea. In addition to expanding the coffee bar into the „Cupping Counter”, newly created „Theme Pavilions” will bundle the presence of exhibitors, who offer vegetable and fruit snacks, dried meat, i.e. jerky beef or breakfast items. On the other hand, ISM newcomers will be presented in the „Newcomers Area”.
The central „New Product Showcase” platform is an integral part of the ISM programme. Here, the exhibitors can present their new items to the trade audience. The special event „Sweet Trends – Powered by Innova Market Insights” including a lecture forum as well as the special event of the students of the KISD (Cologne International School of Design) are also being staged again at ISM 2016. The international prize, the „ISM Award”, will once again be conferred upon an outstanding personality from the confectionery industry. After Herman Goelitz Rowland Sr. (Jelly Belly Candy Company) and Felix Richterich (Ricola AG), the industry will find out who the third prize winner is on the evening of the first exhibition day during a festive dinner.
The ISM is occupying Halls 2, 3, 4, 5, 10 and 11 of the exhibition grounds in Cologne, which corresponds to a gross exhibition surface area of 110,000 sqm.
Boasting 1,500 exhibitors, ISM is once again underlining the leading role it plays for the sweets and snacks industry. In addition to numerous market-leading manufacturers, smaller and medium-sized companies also impressively demonstrate their innovative power and performance. With an 85 percent share of foreign exhibitors, ISM is one of the most international trade fair events in the world. The highest number of foreign exhibitors come from Italy, Belgium, Spain and France. With further key participations from the Netherlands, Great Britain, Turkey, China, Poland and the USA. But also companies from Ecuador, Japan, Korea and the United Arab Emirates are represented.
After their successful introduction in the year 2015, for the coming event a high number of registrations has also been received for the new segments. Two companies will be exhibiting jerky beef for the first time. Beyond this, a host of manufacturers of fruit and vegetable snacks have confirmed their participation, some of whom will be represented in a related theme pavilion. Enhanced by tasting sessions and product introductions, the „Cupping Counter” is offering the theme of tea and coffee a special information and networking platform.
For the fourth time, ISM will be offering young and aspiring companies the opportunity to present themselves jointly to the international buyer’s market for sweets and snacks in its „Newcomer Area” in an attractive atmosphere and at favourable conditions. A few places are currently still available.http://www.ism-cologne.com/ISM/index-2.php
